* Lynn Fontanne (1887-1983) was a British born acting star with a career that spanned five decades in America, alongside that of her husband Alfred Lunt. Each received an Emmy award and a joint Tony award and Fontanne earned an Academy Awards nomination for a leading role in one of her films ('The Guardsman', 1931). She led everyone (including her husband) to believe that she had been born in 1892-1893, a conceit that she maintained until her death.
