Click to view full image... WALKING STICK HANDLE - HUNTING DOG a silver walking stick handle in the form of a Hunting Dog (most of stick missing). Set with glass eyes and hallmarked for London 1909.
*This walking stick top and the following lots were part of the estate of Henry Meyer Cumming (born around 1884). He inherited an umbrella business from his father and had 6 shops in London, the last of which to close was at London Bridge Approach in 1966/67. He had the Royal Warrant from the early 1900's until the early 1920's and often made parasols and umbrellas for Queen Mary and often visited Buckingham Palace. Originally he and his staff used to make umbrellas and walking sticks from scratch, but people also brought in items for repair. He would travel around the world for the silk and handles he would use. These items were left from the business and have remained in the family. £60-100
