Matchbox Superfast Long Haul TP900 Series Articulated Horse Transporter Pre-production model - mock-up Leyland Tractor Unit - metallic emerald green body, amber windows, silver painted base, 8-spoke chrome wheels, trailer has cream plastic body with brown roof, green ramps, complete with horses attached to sprue, metallic silver "Low Bed Trailer" base, 5-arch wheels. Tractor unit is a reworked body casting with roof headboard, wider track wheelarches, fuel tanks now part of base rather than body casting, chrome plated exhaust stacks and square rather than angled side cab side windows. Model was never released but the trailer did form part of the convoy series in 1982 - overall Near Mint unboxed complete with standard production issue Leyland Tractor Unit included for comparison purposes which is Near Mint. Matchbox Superfast No.44 GMC Refrigerator Truck - un-spun body casting only fitted with ivory plastic rear axle clip and 5-spoke narrow wheels. Possibly a first-shot casting used to check assembly of the rear axle clips - Near Mint unboxed. £40-£60

Matchbox Superfast No.35 Merryweather Marquis Fire Engine Pre-production trial model - bare metal body, yellow plastic ladder, blue windows, white plastic base, 5-spoke narrow wheels with ivory axle clips. Model differs from standard Superfast production issue in the following ways: body casting is without roof chequered-plate detail to rear, both ladder retaining lugs and roof-light cast circles are smaller, lower edge of body between the wheelarches is flat whereas production version have a raised sill area, rear of body has 4 x cast open rectangular holes above the plastic insert which on production versions are cast shut, base is smooth without the cast detail above, below and to the left side of the model description and does not have the "pat app" lettering to rear and the side lockers are cast in pairs rather than a single locker on production versions, also the cab door step area is correctly recessed whereas production issues have this area cast flat. Does have some chrome loss to wheels - Excellent Plus unboxed. Please note base has not been factory spun to body. £300-£400
