Norris Sr, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Victory Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Sharpshooter Badge with 2 clasps Rifle, Carbine, Presidential Citation ribbon bar attributed to Sgt Roy "Pappy" Norris, 101st Airborne Division, generally very fine and better. Sold with 13.5cm octagonal bronze "Nuts" Bastogne plaque. With some research, Pappy was born 25/11/25 in LaGrange, served WW2 with 101st Airborne, retired as SGM E-9, died 1/7/2011 aged 95. (R) £100

  U.S.A. Korean Bronze Star named Robert D Durst in box of issue with ribbon bar, extremely fine. Sold with folded US flag used to cover his coffin at his funeral, in damaged wood and glass display case. With copied photo and some research, he served in US Army 31/8/46 to 30/8/51 as a Disbursing Clerk, died in Moundridge 29/2/2012 aged 83. Display case will not be posted. (B) £60

  U.S.A. WW2 Bronze Star attributed to Major J.R. Lacedonia, extremely fine. With original HQ 31st Infantry Division typed citation dated 8th September 1945: Major Julio R. Lacedonia, 0300495, Infantry, United States Army. For meritorious achievement in connection with military operations against the enemy on Mindanao, Philippine Islands, from 22 April 1945 to 27 June 1945. Major Lacedonia, regimental S-4, handicapped by a shortage of vehicles and by the destruction of important bridges by the enemy, was faced with the seemingly insurmountable task of supplying the rapidly moving regiment. By working day and night with initiative, devotion and great skill Major Lacedonia successfully kept the supplies of war moving to the front line troops even when air supply was the only available method. Major Lacedonia's performance of duty reflects great credit on himself and upholds the highest traditions of the military service. (R) £50

With copied research, he was born 22/3/14 in Lebanon, Marion County, drafted 16/6/41, completed basic training at Camp Roberts and posted to D Coy, 17th Infantry, departed USA April 1943 for Aleutian Islands, participated in the Battles of Attu, Kiska, Kwajalein, Leyte and Okinawa, was wounded near West Arm Holtz Bay, Attu 14/5/43. Victorian 1827 Pattern Royal Navy Officer's sword and scabbard by Seagrove, The Hard, Portsea, half blade etched including fouled anchor and QV crown, wire and fishskin grip, brass guard with fouled anchor, the hinged locking plate is engraved G.J. Mills Esq R.N., there are a number of knicks to the blade, leather scabbard with brass chape, throat and middle band, scabbard has been folded/creased, generally good fine to nearly very fine. G.J. Mills is thought to be George Jacob Mills who retired as Paymaster-In-Chief 19/6/07 and had served from the 1880s, with various copied Navy Lists and research, also recalled for WWI. (See photo) £100

Sopwith Snipe wooden 2 blade propeller, hub marked in 4 rows LP 5300 PH, D2780 P2920, Sopwith Snipe, B R 2, 9 feet 3 inches long, hub 6 and a quarter inches wide, with 8 bolt holes, but centre has been enlarged to accommodate a clock with chime, odd minor chip and scratches to blade, generally good very fine to nearly extremely fine. Click to view full image... Warwickshire Yeomanry interest framed original unsigned watercolour painting of H.M. Transport "Leasowe Castle" in disruptive pattern camouflage steaming in convoy. The Leasowe Castle carrying over 2900 troops including the Warwickshire Yeomanry and the South Notts Hussars was torpedoed at 12.45am some 100 miles north of Alexandria by UB51, and sunk at 2am. The naval escorts managed to save the majority of troops but some 100 died including 10 men of the Warwickshire Yeomanry. Painting measures 52.5cm x 32cm, frame measures 76cm x 53cm. There is some minor foxing and a few chips to frame, paper backing on reverse of frame is torn. Buyer must collect. (See photo) £120
