  A PERCUSSION TRADE MUSKET. A 19thC Percussion musket with smoothbore 30.3/4" flared muzzle barrel. Three bands and brass furniture with stock numbered and cap pocket inset. 57" overall length with steel ramrod and brass buttplate. £150-200

  A MAHOGANY DOUBLE PISTOL CASE. A large mahogany pair of pistols case, with fitted and lined red velvet inners. It would appear to be for a set of French Percussion duelling or target pistols, from the shape and indentations, for dual triggers. An oil bottle and a bullet mould, are inside the 19.1/2" long by 10.1/4" wide by 3.1/2" deep case which has positions for a flask, screwdriver and other parts. £200-300

  A TROOPERS LOBSTERTAIL HELMET. A Siege weight troopers lobstertail helmet with the three nasal bars and one piece skull. The three rivetted tail pieces are present as are the ears though these are held on by wire. The nasal piece moves reasonably freely, two holes are present at the front of the helmet. £500-700

  A NAVAL UNIFORM & SWORD etc WORN BY LT J B FELLOWS RN. The dress uniform complete with cased Bicorn Hat and cased Epaulettes, Sword and scabbard, dressbelt etc worn by Lt Thomas B Fellowes later Captain RN. The son of Rear Admiral Thomas H B Fellowes KCB 1911 and CB 1868, he joined the Royal Navy as a Midshipman in 1911, promoted Lieutenant in 1913. He served at the Battle of Jutland on HMS Unity, where he was awarded the Russian Order of St Stanislaus 3rd Class. During the Great war he was also awarded a USA medal for his valour whilst rescuing US Troops torpedoed aboard S S Tuscania off Ireland on the 5th February 1918. Promoted Lt Commander in October 1921 and Commander in 1926 thence Captain in June 1934. In 1937 he was Chief of Staff in Gibraltar. It was during the Spanish Civil War that he was awarded the German Red Cross Badge of Honour, which the King gave permission for him to wear on all occasions. This was for the rescue and treatment of wounded men, from a direct hit on the Deutschland. The award was a 3rd model 1st Class of the Honour. During the Blitz his original medals were discovered amid the War Debris Survey and Disposal Dump and were later returned to him in damaged condition. He died a retired Captain of the Gt and 2nd World Wars, aged 82 in 1974. His medals were last known of for sale in Canada. £1000-1500

An Australian Commando dagger of an unknown manufacturer. Based on the Fairburn-Sykes fighting knife, with shortened 1907-13/14 bayonet scabbard and frog. Knurled brass hilt with thin crossguard, broken double-edged blade of 5" length, missing some 1.5/8" of the point. £80-120

For the restoration of the health of H R H The Prince of Wales. The Right Hon Sir Sills John Gibbons Bt Lord Mayor. Sir Francis Wyatt Truscott Ald. Sir John Bennett Kt F.R.A.S. William Lawley Esq chairman of the committee. Inner lid has Wyon Regent St London in gold lettering. Both bronze medallions are inset in the case, with a 77mm diameter. Copied service papers show David Donaldson attested aged 18 years of age in 1903, in the Parish of Dundee. Then was mobilized for service 5th August 1914. Embarked for France on the 10th August 1914. medals and clasp confirmed on MIC details. Copied paperwork shows he was an acting Sergeant, also being wounded in the arm and thigh during the Battle of the Somme. Also with the medals/paperwork is an A & Sutherland Highlanders Cap Badge £120-150

A St Johns A A bronze medal named to 198889 William J Burley, and five numbered 198889 bars for 1917/1918/1928/1929/1930. William J Burley a reservist before the Gt War was mobilized and embarked for France on the 21-9-1914. Wounded in 1916 he was hospitalised in England for much of 1917 & 1918. Being placed on the reserve (Drummer) in 1919. With copies of attestation papers and a Y & Lancs badge being at some time altered for a sweetheart to wear. £120-150

Albert Edward Rolls was awarded a Silver Wound Badge, on list C/302. He was mobilized and embarked for France on the 23/8/1914. Mounted for wear with a Hampshire Regiment cap badge present. Interestingly it appears from his MIC details that his first claim for a 1914 clasp and rosettes was rejected. He did receive them though in 1920. £120-150

The three mounted for wear, with photocopied details. Reported missing and Prisoner of War confirmed 24/4/1917. After the German surrender he was posted home in December 1918. He had mobilized at derby on the 5th August 1914, serving in France from 8/9/1914 until December 1st 1914. Again in France from 28/3/1916, until his capture 23/4/1917. Served in the colours for over 14 years in total. £120-150

Roland George Orchard a native of London served in France & Flanders from the 3/11/1914 and was wounded and awarded a discharge on the 13/7/1915, with Silver wound Badge List TP/308. In March 1915 Roland Orchard was severely wounded in the face by shrapnel, losing his right eye and damaging his left eye at the age of 21 years. £120-150

Private George Robert Darnell who's date of death is given as 29th October 1914. He is commemorated on the Ypres Memorial, he was 34 years of age. The son of Robert and Martha Darnell of Drill Hall Cottages, North Shields. Northumberland. Husband of the late Rebecca Darnell. He saw service in France from the 13th August 1914, his medals were forwarded to his father in 1920. His wife was deceased by that date, her death aged 34 years is recorded in Tynemouth June 1920. £300-400
