| SELECTED VEHICLES AND MOTORCYCLES | To commence at approximately 2.00pm v1392 1926 Ford Model T Fire Engine Reg. No. Not UK registered Purchased by the vendor in the USA at auction as part of the Twin Oaks Collection this spectacular Fire Engine has clearly had a huge amount of money lavished upon it. On arrival in the UK the Model T was examined and the separate rebuilt engine was sent straight to specialists Tuckett Bros who inspected and assembled both the engine and gearbox whilst back at base the engine was completely re-wired. Furnished with a mass of fire apparatus which includes a Case pump, siren, extinguishers, bell, spotlights, ladder and much more this is a truly amazing machine that is now running and driving with all lighting working and would make a fantastic addition to a private or museum collection. Possibly unique in the UK and offered with the relevant import documentation Estimate £15,000 - £18,000 v1393 1937 Chevrolet 1.5t Pickup Truck Reg. No. YXG 316 Chassis No. 215B0810484 Engine No. 3355256 The manual straight six Pickup was sourced from the same sale in the USA as the previous lot and has had a similar degree of close attention. Liveried as a delivery truck for Harley Davidson Motorcycles the vendor informs us that this truck is an up and running prospect although having stood for 12 months will require the brakes to be fettled before using in anger. The motor is said to be absolutely on the button and to run like a watch, recently inspected by the DVLA's agent and issued with its registration number, the truck will be supplied with current V5C documentation Estimate £10,000 - £12,000

1952 350cc Norton Manx 40M Frame No. Not found Engine No. G10 M2 42039 The Manx was a dedicated racing motorcycle that was first introduced by Norton in 1946 and saw a continuous development through to its final incarnation in 1962. This particular example has been consigned from a deceased's estate and comes straight from well cared for family storage. The factory records state that 42039 had a build date of 4th December 1951 and was sent 'Overseas'. As with all racing machines it has undergone continuous development and the mighty Friedl Munch front drum is an obvious upgrade. Marque specialist Barry Stickland, to whom we are indebted, also suggests that the frame may be a replica type Featherbed of later 1950s/60s type, the rear hub a 1970s BSA/Triumph, the fuel and oil tanks of later 1960s type and the front forks of the Roadster type. The gearbox appears to be the correct Manx specification, a BTH mag' is fitted whilst Sinore Tommaselli looks after throttle and levers, lockwire is in plentiful evidence. Other information supplied states that the bike was restored around 1997 with a full engine rebuild by R Lewis Engineering the respected Manx builders. 42039 attended the 2014 TT Classic for a parade lap and the associated trophy is supplied with the bike, there is also a scrutineers sticker from British Historic Racing at Cadwell Park in September 2011. Kept in the heated 'man shed' since last year it is presented in fine order in the traditional black and silver colour scheme, a nice interesting Manx for the discerning and would be classic racer. Estimate £12,000 - £15,000

1949 500cc Sunbeam S7 De-Luxe Reg. No. 195 XUH Frame No. S7-2911 Engine No. S8-6410 The S7 was designed by Erling Poppe for BSA based on viewing several captured Wehrmacht BMW R75s. The technically advanced in line twin engine was used by BSA (owners of the Sunbeam name) rather than the Boxer design to prevent the whole plot from looking "too German". With an all aluminium unit construction engine, shaft drive, balloon tyres and other refinements it was a technically advanced machine. The lowly horsepower output is due to BSA's insistence on using a worm drive to the rear wheel, rather than use the traditional bevel gears BSA decided to reduce the horsepower in order to prolong the life of the opted for worm gearing. Many of the 5,500 De Luxe versions produced are still on the road so the fragility of the worm drive may be more myth than truth. This example in the traditional mist green was issued its current registration number in 2009 and has been in the same ownership since 2010. Forming part of a small collection it has remained little used and has only been started and run a few times in the last two years. Stated to start and ride well, the S7 De-Luxe is offered for sale with V5C documentation and a Stuart Engineering dating certificate Estimate £4,000 - £5,000

1953 650cc BSA A10 Golden Flash Reg. No. 530 UXW Frame No. BA7 8288 Engine No. BA10-296 This example of the Bert Hopwood designed 650 parallel twin is stated by the current custodian of 7 years to be in largely original order. The plunger framed A10 is a much admired but seldom used part of a small private collection but the lure of electric start machines means that the Greater London registered Flash doesn't get much road time. The vendor assures us that it's an easy starter, is in clean condition and runs well, offered for sale with current V5C Estimate £2,000 - £3,000

1940 98cc Norman (Conquest) Autocycle Reg. No. DRS 345A Frame No. G1607 Engine No. XXA18628 The Norman Autocycle was much vaunted as cheap transport for the working man with the advertising of the period proclaiming its 1 penny for 8 miles thriftiness. DRS 345A was re-registered in 1984 hence the incongruous registration number, it has been in the same ownership since 1987 and we are informed was last running 5 years ago. The vendor states with every confidence that it will be running in time for the sale and is supplied with lots of historical paperwork, a maintenance book, transfers for the tank and current V5 documentation Estimate £400 - £600

1975 49cc Yamaha FS1-E 'Purple Popsicle' Reg. No. JHH 729N Frame No. 23832 Engine No. 23832 To men of a certain age, the 'Fizzy' will always represent the rite of passage to manhood and the first taste of freedom. Back in the giddy days of flared trousers long hair and even longer shirt collars the FS1-E was the item of desire to all red-blooded teenagers and the fastest moped on the block. The ability to tell tall tales of its ability to achieve unfeasible speeds and its magnetic power on the opposite sex were part of growing up in the mid 1970s. JHH 729N is recorded as having 3 previous owners prior to the current custodian taking charge in 1980, he states that after approximately 18 months use it went into the barn where it has stayed ever since. In the most desired Purple colour scheme this FS1-E appears to be complete and genuine with an engine that is free and turns over and is stated to have been running perfectly when last used. The overall finish is in poor order but what an opportunity to re-live ones teen years and to hear that two stroke soundtrack of the youth club once again. Offered for sale with current V5 documentation. Estimate £1,300 - £1,600

c1940 500cc Norton 16H Project Reg. No. N/A Frame No. 34294 Engine No. W5343 This girder forked Norton project carries engine No. W5343 from a batch of 6,000 ordered by the Ministry of Supply on 16th March 1939. The frame No. 34294 would seem to indicate a similar batch ordered on 25th July 1940 albeit missing the W prefix, traces of military coloured paint would however seem to back the army origin theory. The rolling chassis is complete with engine, carburettor, oil and fuel tanks, saddle and other ancillaries. The original registration number and related have not survived sadly but further research is clearly required from military sleuths. Some winter shed time beckons to the restorer of this 16H which is consigned straight from long term farm storage. Estimate £600 - £1,000

1962 199cc Triumph T20 Tiger Cub Reg. No. HAS 430 Frame No. T90145 Engine No. T2084115 In apparently quite original order this non matching numbers Cub was purchased from a local auction on behalf of a friend whose wife then decided he couldn't have it, Oh Dear! Consequently the non rider owner has only ever ridden it around his farmyard but reports that it starts and runs OK. Offered for sale with V5 documentation to a more understanding household. Estimate £800 - £1200

1985 350cc Yamaha RD350LC Mk2 Reg. No. B416 XYL Frame No. 31K004030 Engine No. 31K004030 This matching numbers example of the famed and ground breaking 'Elsie' has been in the same ownership for 25 years having been purchased in 1990 from Andy Lee's shop in Mill Road Cambridge. It is stated to be in standard trim with the exception of a chrome radiator cover, fork brace and Goodridge braided brake lines and is finished in original Wrangler Pro-Arm racing colours of blue, white and yellow. The extraordinarily low mileage of just 7,913 is due to having spent most of its life in the current ownership in dry storage, the vendor states that it is a fine running machine which is currently on a SORN the last MOT having expired a year ago. Surely very few examples exist that have been cosseted like this one which is offered with V5 documentation Estimate £3,500 - £4,000

1923 175cc Rex-Acme Minor Reg. No. WK 4906 Frame No. 33802 Engine No. H2396 This restored Rex-Acme was the subject of some debate by a previous owner who carried out the restoration. In order to establish its true identity Michael Worthington-Williams and the VMCC were pressed into service and the 1923 Minor attribution was arrived at with certainty. The relevant letters are supplied along with a copy of a period advertisement, this shows the machine promoted as 170cc when the bore and stroke measurements actually calculate to 175cc, every bit helps when you're a tiddler! Consigned from a deceased's estate this ideal Banbury mount will require the usual recommissioning before use having been in dry storage for the last year or so. The accompanying V5C gives a 1924 manufacturing date although the 1923 date is supplied by the VMCC as the model year. Estimate £4,000 - £5,000

1981 850cc Moto-Guzzi Le Mans Mk2 Reg. No. UNM 737W Frame No. 23227 Engine No. 82721 This father and son owned Mk2 has been well converted to Mk1 spec' with only the front brake caliper position giving the game away. We are informed that this conversion is way above average and benefits from electronic ignition and Japanese switchgear. The current seat unit is described as 'not the most attractive but comfortable' an original square section foam seat will be supplied. The whole motorcycle has been rebuilt professionally including the engine and a large dossier of paperwork covering the work is supplied, a new rear tyre has been fitted recently and the whole plot announces its arrival through a pair of Lafranconi pipes. For sale through lack of use, the vendor states that between him and his son they have averaged less than 500 miles a year and feel it deserves a more active life. A hugely attractive machine that is finished in the traditional red and black colour scheme and is offered with current V5C and MOT Estimate £5,800 - £6,500

No. RFO 587 Frame No. A85026 Engine No. 31CSR19281 Finished in blue highlighted with the blue and chrome fuel tank, this 650cc machine is stated by the vendor to be a perfectly useable example that might be a candidate for restoration or further preservation. The AMC big twins are not so common and certainly stand out as something that bit different from the usual at club meets. This example is stated to be supplied with an owners club letter verifying its details as well as a current V5. Estimate £3,500 - £4,000

No. OWE 40E (expired) Frame No. TBA Engine No. TBA Finished in orange and stated to be ripe for restoration, the D10 has been local to Whaley Bridge in Derbyshire its whole life and has had just three owners from new, the second of these was apparently John Rowland an ex WW2 bomber pilot who used the bike during the 1960s. An HPI check shows an expired registration number but a V5 is supplied that may assist the new owner in retaining the original registration. Estimate £600 - £800

1957 650cc Triumph T110 Thunderbird Reg. No. 319 BMB Frame No. 012528 Engine No. T110 016972 This vehicle was purchased by the vendor as an ex VMCC registered track racing outfit. The sidecar had already been sold but the solo unit which was lowered on 16ins wheels was available from its retiring rider owner via a mutual friend. The bike was stated to have been tried out up and down the road by the seller who exclaimed it to be extremely rapid (or words to that effect), so the T110 changed hands with the intention of converting it to road use. The motor is described as being in a hot state of tune but untouched by the current owner, it has a Bonneville head with twin carb's. Offered for sale as a work in progress that will include its 16ins wheels (inc TLS Bonneville front brake) and a standard QD rear wheel, standard pre-unit front forks, all tinwork including some duplicate parts, fuel tank, seat and over £1,000 worth of new cycle parts a sample of which is illustrated.
