LNER C/I Seatback GUISBOROUGH measuring 35 1/2" in length. Ex terminus of the Middlesbrough and Guisborough Railway, later NER and LNER station that served the town of Guisborough in North Yorkshire. Opened on 25 February 1854 and closed, along with the entire Nunthorpe to Guisborough branch, on 2 March 1964. Restored. First time to appear at auction.

Rhodesian Railways brass Nameplate INGWE (meaning Leopard). Ex RR Class 15 Garrett 4-6-4 + 4-6-4 'Double Baltic' number 381. Built by Beyer Peacock under works number 7277 in 1948. A number of the class were rebuilt and classified 15th Class, 23 were named after African wildlife. Comes with matching alloy numberplate. A very desirable set from one of these classic BP locomotives.

Carriage Print 'London, Lambeth Bridge' by Kenneth Steel RBA, SGA from the LNER Post War series issued around 1948. . In 1834 most of the old Houses of Parliament burnt down and Charles Barry designed the present gothic structure. It has 1,100 apartments and two miles of corridors. VGC. In original style frame & glazed.

Smokebox Numberplate 42938. Ex Hughes 2-6-0 'Crab' built Horwich Works in December 1932. Allocations include Stockport, Lancaster, Gorton and Newton Heath. Withdrawn September 1965. One of the last batch to be made with detailed differences to wheels and frames.

Tyers Single Needle mahogany cased Signal Box Telegraph Instrument with left/right sending handle, single dial and sloping desk attachment to pin messages. Used mostly on the GNR, this one is in good condition but is lacking the glass.

American Locomotive Bell of large proportion and weight. A lovely example with fittings to mount on boiler top and large operating lever. Similar to the type fitted to 6000 King George V and 60010 Dominion Of Canada but almost identical to that fitted to 6100 Royal Scot.

GWR cast iron Gangers Instrument embossed on the face with company name. Together with a similar but the 'G' of GWR has been ground off to leave 'WR', obviously for use on the Western Region. The latter is fitted with a blank brass Annetts Key.

Russian Locomotive Builders Plate No 8640 dated 1947, as fitted to loco smokeboxes. Measures 31" x 10 1/2", ex loco condition.

Worksplate, brass engraved '62038 of 1948'. Ex Peppercorn K1 locomotive built by the North British Locomotive Company under works number 26642. Allocated to March for most of its life and then Doncaster for the final few years. Withdrawn October 1963.

GCR carved oak Coat of Arms surrounded with ornate 'wings' and borders. A magnificent item, reputedly from Grimsby Docks Directors Room. Central company shield hand painted. Measures 47" x 30" in two halves that slot together via dowels. Quite superb.

Nameplate WESTERN GLORY with matching Cabside Numberplate. Ex BR Class 52 Diesel Hydraulic D1072, the penultimate member of the class, built by BR at Crewe Works and released to traffic in November 1963 and allocated to Old Oak Common. Withdrawn in August 1974 and cut up at Swindon in April 1977. The nameplate is 78 1/2" x 8" and has been lightly face painted. Arguably one of, if not the best sounding Western names. The original receipt accompanies along with a quantity of other correspondence detailing the Westerns for sale at the time and the relevant defects to certain plates and cabsides, most interesting information.
