Elizabeth Stanhope Forbes : King Arthur's Wood. Nd. C.1904. Large folio landscape hb. with an unusual pressed hessian-type cloth binding featuring a black silhouette of woodland scenery. Illustrated with reproductions of charcoal sketches and water colours by Forbes together with in-text vignettes and illustrated initial letters. Scarce. The volume needs some restoration and general repair. Binding is worn at extremities with very minor loss but generally clean and capable of restoration. Some pages with closed tears, a small number with small loss at the margins not affecting text or illustrations. Scarce. The binding is quite worn at the extremities with tiny loss at the corners where the board is exposed and the original maroon cloth is quite faded otherwise it is a sound copy.
