Single (Photo) (plate 29) 1979 50p Rolls Royce booklets, a miscut pair, each with "impossible" combination of panes, the first 38p (2 x 2p plus 4 x 8p), the second 64p (2 x 2p and 6 x 10p), each with full perfs. (If you'd bought them for £1, you'd have made an instant profit of 2p!) Ex Mike Holt who reports that only 11 such pairs are known to exist. 1979 Sorani cert (in Italian) stating "original [ie as issued] with original gum and in perfect condition and therefore signed." Single (Photo) (plate 29) 1992 £1.50 Castle in u/m gutter pair, with all 3 portions of the piece printed, the result of a spectacular 10mm upwards misperforation, the top stamp missing the Queen's head and the value tablet, which are printed in the gutter margin and the bottom piece is almost bisected about 1/3rd of the way up the stamp, with the Queen's head at the value tablet at the bottom, rather than the top of the stamp. Folded through both horizontal perfs and some separation between top stamp and gutter margin. 2 stamps or 3 as you wish, but a truly spectacular error. (SG 1612 Var) (Ex Mike Holt) £200-250
