SECURITY BACKGROUND PROOFS: Marginal piece of security Background Proof "A43" on thin card (67 x 69 mm) represented by 1860 Customs 1/6d x 4 with m/s cancellations and Trinidad Britannia design 1d pair mint. Also a c1855 proof on porous card (44 x 107 mm) of security background 11/23 as used for the head surround etc. on various issues. Examples of the use are represented by mint 1862 Antigua 1d, 1860 Queensland 1862 1d mint vertical pair (faults), S Australia 1856 series 6d blue, Tasmania 1855 1d reprint and Turks Island 1887 1/- mint block of nine (one thinned and gum toned).
