Extremely rare 1887 Jewish copper Conversion Medal nearly extremely fine with tiny traces of verdigris on reverse, pierced at top as issued with small suspension ring. This medal was struck to honour Jews who converted to Christianity. Oval shaped 45mm x 33mm obverse with Star of David with legend "Christ in You The Hope of Glory Holy is His Name", reverse legend "Father Glorify thy Name H.G.I. Founded June 23 1887" around a cross with Hebrew legends. One was sold in the Rosenblum Sale 141 in 1984 for US $995. (See photo) (Y) £250
