Greenock - Error Report. 1847 “Report of Error” form with printed O.H.M.S address to “John P Good, Surveyor, G.P.O Edinburgh”, completed by the Greenock Postmaster with Greenock and Edinburgh backstamps. The Rothesay and Dunoon mail bags have been received from the Royal Mail Steam Packet “Castle” soaked with rain so the contents were much mutilated and the addresses barely readable, something that frequently occurs due to the steam packet not placing the bags into the box provided.
