  WWI 1914-15 Star trio, 1915 NGSM Palestine 1936-1939 clasp, WW2 1939-1945, Atlantic, Africa, Pacific Stars and BWM to J.30895 H.F. Baldwyn A.B. R.N. contact marks to WWI, fine to good very fine. With original service parchment, Harold Frank Baldwyn was born 19/10/98 in Tewkesbury, enlisted as a Boy 11/8/14, WWI served on HMS Marlborough 1/5/15 to 27/6/17 confirmed present at the Battle of Jutland where the Marlborough was hit by a torpedo (he was paid 3/1 Jutland Prize Bounty), WW2 service included HMS Glasgow 13/4/40 to 10/6/42 etc, discharged 12/9/45. Other original documents with Torpedo History sheets and Certificate For Wounds and Hurts, he was injured 29/10/37 "Inspecting batteries on charge" when the accumulator exploded in his face whereby he sustained acid burns to both corneae. With some copied research, Frederick Murison Harvey was commissioned Temp Sub Lieut 1/12/16 with Silverol, Lieut 16/10/18 with Kharki, commission terminated 31/1/20, died 25th April 1957 (from RFA Last Post web site, rank confirmed as Capt).   WWI 1914-15 Star trio, Royal Navy Admiral's uniform LSGC, WW2 1939-1945, Atlantic, Africa Stars, BWM and Defence Medal to M.511 P.R. Rendle E.R.A.3 (E.R.A.4 on star, E.R.A.1 H.M.S. Veteran on LSGC, WW2 un-named as issued, first 4 swing mounted as worn and fine to good fine, WW2 extremely fine. With original parchment record of service and Engine Room Branch cover for certificate of service, also with copied research on ship movements. Percy Reginald Rendle was born in Plympton 30/3/93, enlisted as a Boy 9/8/08, WWI served on HMS Warrior until 13/6/16 so almost certainly on board at Jutland when she was sunk, LSGC awarded 20/2/27, WW2 served on HMS Hermione 4/3/41 to 16/6/42 on which date she was sunk by torpedoes from U-205 with the loss of 87 crew, he was discharged 3/9/45, almost certainly having 2 ships sink from under him.   WWI 1914-15 Star trio and Mercantile Marine War Medal to M. O'Connor Ch Std M.F.A. (Michael O'Connor on MMWM) extremely fine and better. He was killed in action on 15th July 1917 when the Q Ship HMS Redbreast was sunk by U-93 in the Mediterranean with the loss of 43 crew and with no known grave, he is commemorated on the Plymouth Naval Memorial.   WWI 1914-15 Star trio and Mercantile Marine War Medal to S.Lt R.H. Horner R.N.R. (Robert H. Horner on MMWM) good very fine and better. He was brought to the notice by Secretary of State For War for valuable service rendered in the sinking of the Hospital Ship Anglia where he was the Chief Officer, published in Edinburgh Gazette dated 1st November 1918. With copied medal card transcription, Navy List, Anglia details and LGs, Robert Henderson Horner was born in Liverpool in 1866, appointed Sub Lieut in RNR 16/12/12, left RNR 22/4/15. The Anglia while transporting casualties from Boulogne struck a mine laid by UC-5 off Folkestone and sank with the loss of over 160 men and women. (R) £180

Frank Charles Nelson Day died serving as a Commander on HMS Nile on 7th April 1942 aged 52 and is buried in Alexandria War Memorial Cemetery. With crushed box of issue for WWI pair, WW2 Navy box of issue addressed to Mrs D.M. Day, Parkstone, Birmingham Automobile Club enamel badge named F.C.N. Day 1935, boxed Motor Cycle Club medal named Land's End Trial 1936 F.C.N. Day Car, enamel and silver naval pin badge etc. With copied CWGC and typed research, appointed Sub Lieut 14/4/16, Lieut 14/8/16, Lieut Commander 30/9/33, Commander 30/9/41. (R) £160

With copied service papers, John Robert McCarthy was born in Newcastle 25/9/88, enlisted as a Boy 5/12/05, served all WWI on HMS Lion so almost certainly at Jutland where she suffered 99 killed and 51 wounded, discharged 24/9/28. With copied service paper, Frederick Adam Dressler was born 5/5/87, enlisted 2/8/14, qualified as a decoder 16/3/15, WWI served on HMS Thunderer until 13/7/17 so almost certainly at Jutland, record stamped "For Service in Land Operations", also listed as Dunster Force 28/8/18-31/12/18, a very small force of roughly 500 used for operations in Northern Iran and southern Russia in the Baku area, discharged 23/10/19. Officers serving on Armed Merchant Cruisers were granted temporary commissions in RNR for their own protection in case of capture. Norman Ramsey Maxwell was appointed Midshipman 31/8/15, joined AMC Marmora 30/9/15, Marmora was sunk with the loss of 10 crew by U-64 off Ireland 23/7/18 and it is likely he was on board at that time, joined AMC Macedonia 14/10/18. With copied service paper, he was born in Walsall 6/1/84, enlisted 20/11/03, WWI served on destroyer HMA Amazon until June 1917, discharged and joined RFR 19/11/25. (R) £100

  OBE recipient's WWI BWM, Mercantile Marine War Medal, WW2 1939-1945, Africa, Burma Stars and BWM to John W. Allan (WW2 un-named as issued) extremely fine. With Dept Trade & Industry extracts, John Wilfred Allan was born in 28/10/84, joined SS Cairnross as 3rd Engineer 31/10/13 on Atlantic routes, joined Bengali 15/9/15 on Mediterranean and Indian routes and was on board when she was torpedoed and sunk near Alexandria by UC-34, but all the crew survived. His next ship was Makalla which he joined on 11/10/18. He was awarded the OBE in the London Gazette dated 24th June 1946 listed as Chief Engineer Officer SS Martand T&J Brocklebank Ltd. With copied research including WW2 roll which lists him as OBE, LG, WWI surname list which confirms unique name etc. (R) £100

Henry Smith was killed in action with the 8th Bn on 6th August 1916 during the attack on Torr Trench and Munster Alley and with no know grave is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. This was the same day that Pte William Henry Short of the 8th Battalion was awarded the Victoria Cross for actions as part of a bombing party. With copied CWGC and Soldiers Died, from South Shields.
