Wilson & Co. Engineers, Leeds, the drawings signed and dated D. Joy, July 30, 1845 and Sept. 27, 1845 respectively, 41cm x 65cm, framed. N.B. D. Joy is almost certainly David Joy (1825 - 1903), E. B. Wilson & Co's Chief Draughtsman. In 1847, his design for the 'Jenny Lind' locomotive went into production - during the following three decades over seventy were produced, this was said to be the first engine to be mass produced to a standard pattern. £250 - 400

David Clarke, fascinating 1960s motor racing album - containing two hundred and twenty-nine annotated black and white photographs of saloon car, single seater, GT / sports car and Formula One racing taken at various British circuits between 1965 and 1967 - including photographs of a Marcos driven by company founder Jim Marsh, Piers Courage in F3 Brabham, John Surtees, Jack Brabham, Jochen Rindt, Jackie Stewart and Sir John Whitmore. N.B. David Clarke was a successful racing driver in the early 1950s until an accident forced him to stop, a millionaire through his family firm 'Clarke's Boxes', David used his resources to fund his passions for film, photography and fast cars, amassing a large collection of Ferraris along the way. He was also a well regarded philanthropist and was widely involved with charities, ranging from children's convalescent homes, to others, helping the elderly or disabled, right up to his death in 2002.
