Interestingly the model is accompanied with a large wooden framed early photograph depicting the same model and its young builder, dating from the early part of the 20th century, there is some puncture damage to the picture but it comes in a Good substantial wooden frame. A large wooden detailed model of a Steam Powered Naval Cruiser marked D41 to sides of hull, with grey upper and red lower hull, stained wooden deck, with metal/wood superstructure and fittings, some fittings are loose/missing includes both masts. To the interior is a marine steam engine which at some point has been fitted with radio control components (unchecked), single screw propeller and rudder to rear, removable deck panels allow access to interior, the steam boiler appears to be gas fired - a Fair basis for some restoration and an impressive model being 42"/107cm long and comes with a wooden display stand. £150-£200

HIJMS Yamato - large scale well detailed model of this Japanese Battleship. Yamato was commissioned in 1941 shortly after Pearl Harbour and was the largest Battleship ever built. She was sunk on 7th April 1945, the length of the model is 52"/132cm - Excellent including a substantial heavy glass case with wooden base and brass plaque. £200-£400

Matchbox (UK) HMS Bluebell - a 1/72nd scale plastic model of a Flower Class Corvette constructed from a Matchbox kit. Nicely detailed and painted, HMS Bluebell was launched in 1940 and served in the Mediterranean, Atlantic and Arctic campaigns escorting several convoys to Russia. She was torpedoed and sunk in February 1945 - camouflaged hull with K80 to each side of bow, length of the model is 33"/84cm - Excellent in a clear perspex case with wooden display base. £30-£50

Lindberg (USA) Kitbuilt 1/120th scale model of the USS Melvin Fletcher Class Destroyer. Nicely detailed and painted with camouflage effect to hull, USS Melvin was launched in 1943. She served in the Pacific and survived until 1975 when she was broken up. Length is 36"/91cm - Excellent in a substantial glass case with wooden base and comes with the original box for the kit. £30-£50
