Fine late 18th century Berlin porcelain urn-shaped vase and cover with gilt, white and blue ground and twin mounted leaf handles and moulded serpent decoration, the two finely painted sepia panels depicting the portrait of Queen Frederika Louisa of Hesse-Darmstadt (1751 - 1805), the second wife of King Frederik Wilhelm II of Prussia - the obverse painted with a crowned musical trophy of arms with FL monogram, the circular fluted and stepped base with underglazed blue sceptre mark, 42cm high overall. Sold with a letter from the Königliches Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin dated 10.10.1902, regarding the vase's history and stating it dates from around 1770 - 1790
