| John Sparks was one of London's leading Chinese art dealerships through the 20th Century, opening in 1890 and closing in 1991. The company moved to 128 Mount Street, Mayfair in 1927. It was unusual for London dealers to involve themselves in the trade of Chinese paintings. The following three paintings are said to have been acquired shortly after the move to Mount Street with the expressed purpose of decorating the numerous staircases across the four storeys of the shop. | |
