Hand operated 'Dobby' ride in dismantled condition. Eighteen carved wood horses in the original paint, two sizes being 28ins (12) and 24ins (6)tall, hand crank mechanism, hanging rods, carved and painted rounding boards. A rare period piece requiring some repair and preservation.

c.1885 Otto Dicycle an ultra rare machine patented by Carl Friedrich Otto on 18th July 1877 with an address at 118 Newgate St, London. BSA manufactured 953 machines which retailed at £21 each. The wavy or 'elastic' spokes identify this example as 1885 or slightly later. It is believed that via various manufacturers 2000 were built. The steering is managed by varying the tension on the band drive to each wheel, appearing structurally sound with drive bands absent. |

c.1884 tricycle, the 46ins 60 spoke wheel driven by crank operated chain drive behind a mesh skirt guard, the steering mechanism by 'D' handle and rack and pinion arrangement to the 16ins 20 spoke front wheel. Very similar to a Laxton & Simmons Britannia No2 (reg: Tricyclists Indispensable Handbook 1884)

4ins scale Garrett single cylinder traction engine 'Atomic' Reg. No. PJ54 DJF On rubber tyres all round and complete with drivers trailer liveried for The Phillips & Wood Steam Haulage Company. The engine is expected to have a new boiler certificate in time for the sale.
