A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE ENAMELLED "BOOKS" BOX AND COVER. Early 20th Century. Well moulded and enamelled in the form of a stack of two cased sets of books, with red, blue and yellow ground brocade covers attached with ivory clasps, the shorter sides simulating the stitched pages of books, the upper surface of the cover with a label inscribed Le Shan Tang Zhi, 8 x 15 x 12cm. £500-700 Literature: This object belongs to a group of ceramics made to simulate other materials, particularly popular during the Qianlong era.
