The silver bowl bears the arms of the Punjab Indian Princely state of Kapurthala. The arms were a grant by the Viceroy before the 1911 Durbar, when the long-reigning Raja, Sir Jagatjit Singh, GCIE, GCSI, GBE (1877-1948) was raised in status from an 11-gun Raja to a 13-gun Maharaja. He was the Indian representative at the League of Nations in the later 1920s and had a very distinguished diplomatic career. £500 - 800
