R.M.A.', Royal Arms and Royal Artillery, in original pigskin field service scabbard with frog and Sam Browne belt. Lieutenant Charles W. Comyns joined the Royal Marine Artillery on 3rd March 1916 and was attached to the Howitzer Brigade. He was promoted Lieutenant 3rd March 1917 and was killed in action Friday November 9th 1917 and is buried at the Belgian Cemetery of Steenkerke, Flanders. He was awarded The French Legion d'honneur and Croix de Guerre. A War Hero's sword
