(22.10) at left, the reverse with Government House imprint (deleted), Lagos (20.9) and London (22.10) c.d.s.; the contents refer to the local flora and fauna, a visit from the Governor who is a keen collector of butterflies; the envelope with a few stains in places though a most unusual cover, the writer serving with the Lagos Expeditionary Force against the Jebu tribe.
