Von Richthofen is credited with eighty victories during WW1. He was finally shot down near Vaux-sur-Somme on 21 April 1918. It remains unclear whether Captain Roy Brown was victorious (as official records suggest), or whether a shot from the ground by an Australian infantryman resulted in the fatal injury.
