A Chinese flambé glazed stoneware bulbous vase, the cylindrical neck with flared rim, 13.5ins (344mm) high (19th Century), carved wood stand for same and complete with wooden fitted case £800-1200 Provenance: G.E.Hubbard (1885-1951) worked for the London Foreign Office from 1916, and was based in Peking between 1920-1924. From 1924-1933 he worked for Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank as a political/diplomatic agent in Peking and Shanghai. It was during this period overseas that he came into possession of this vase. It has remained in his family possession since.
