On the first stamp in the first row from Plate 3, the typewriter failed to move on after the "R" was typed, so the full stop was typed on top of the foot of the "R" and the "I" then followed without a space. The major varieties were:a) "Rvenne &" for "Revenue"Plate 3, Pos. 13 b) Error; 2d. and 6d. se-tenant and "ISLND"Plate 2, Pos. 19 c) "PENCC" errorPlate 2, Pos. 10 d) "L" of "LONG" doubledPlate 2, Pos. 23 e) "G.R.I." shifted to rightPlate 2, Pos. 20 f) No space between "R" and "I"Plate 3, Pos. 1 A total of 240 stamps in all were produced, made up of 6d. stamps in black top impressions, in black carbon copies, and in blue. The quantity includes five 2d. stamps produced se-tenant with 6d. stamps in error. A total of 40 remainders were destroyed. A distinction has to be made between black top impressions and black carbon copies and they have been treated as separate stamps |
