Bermuda Government, specimen uniface 1 shilling, Hamilton, 1 March 1939, serial number A 000001-F/1 300000, green, orange and pink, George VI at right, value at centre and at left (Pick 6s, BG B6, Aspen p.193), the issue of 1/- and 2/6 was proposed to alleviate the expected shortage of coinage during Wartime and the subsequent hoarding of metal. The notes did arrive in Bermuda but were never issued and were destroyed. The 2/6 is seen occasionally, the 1/- is much rarer.
