Footnote: The album was prepared for display at the Pan-American Exposition (World's Fair) held in Buffalo in 1901. The organisation commenced in 1897 but plans were put on hold due to the outbreak of the Spanish-American War in 1898. This explains the dating of the items to the late 1890's.
