COMMONWEALTH (Photo) (plate 19) QV-GV mint and used collection in well-filled pair of New Imperials, commencing GB (mostly used) incl incl 4 1d blacks (2 positively dreadful), other l/engraved and general surface printed, later incl GV to 10/-, 24 & 25 Wembley, BE incl well filled Australia (incl 5/- Harbour Bridge used), following with a good general BE collection, individual stamps typically up to about £50 cat (maybe more here and there), of its type, fairly clean and comprehensive. Some attempt has been made at cataloguing, but the figures showing are clearly from several years ago. We estimate a current catalogue value in the region of £25,000 (ignoring damaged early GB). (100s or 1000s) £3500
2
ALL WORLD General collection first issues to approx 1940 in 2-volume SG Ideal (8th edition), quite passable BE section, the foreign issues being somewhat sparser. 100s or 1000s of stamps. Poor to fine. Cat (vendor's figure - not checked by us and cannot be warranted) approx £30,000 £3000
3
COMMONWEALTH QV-GV mostly used collection in 2-vol New Imperial album, decent GB section from 1981 worth £400-500 incl some better (cds) surface printed, A, B and C countries well enough filled, then gets a little thinner. Throughout there are loose stamps between the pages where items have been purchased (presumably) but not stuck in (would make the whole look rather fuller if they were). We have placed little value on these oddments, but some random testing showed they were not all 10p stamps by any means. Good basis. (100s or 1000s) £3000
4
COMMONWEALTH Fine lot comprising ex fair dealer's counter stock of mint and used QEII (a few GVI), set out in alphabetical and catalogue order (approx), value in mint (mostly u/m) defin sets and higher values. All are identified by SG, generally priced at or around 1/2 cat value. Some duplication in places, but generally limited to 2 or 3 examples. There are good sections of Cyprus, Falklands, Falklands Deps, Gibraltar, Hong Kong (very good incl the best m/s often x 2 or 3), Eire, Singapore, plus BWI, Africa etc. (No GB.) Ready for re-sale with total selling price of £6240, (giving approx cat value of £12,500). (reoffered with reduced estimate) (Res. £2100) £2240
5
COMMONWEALTH (Photo) (plate 20) GVI mint and used collection in interleaved, printed and fairly well filled Crown album, about 2/3rds used, with useful run of defin sets and short sets, better singles etc, several Weddings, UPUs etc. Cat (vendor's estimate) in range £7500-£10000 (many 100s) £1500
6
BR. WEST INDIES Stockbook with mint and used selection generally QV-GV from Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Br. Honduras, Dominica, Grenada and Jamaica, each set out neatly in catalogue order from 1st or early issues and with individual items typically to about £50 cat value (some higher). Clean. (est 500 or so stamps). £1200
7
ALL WORLD Accumulation of 18 country lots in packets in plastic crate, mostly used, with the stamps individually priced for resale. Most are nice old collections on pages, such as Argentina [2], Japan, Iceland, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Estonia and Iran, also collection of Mongolia, with a few lots duplicated on stocksheets [Slovenia, Cuba, Lebanon, Iraq etc]. Useful material, priced to sell at approx £4700. £1100
8
ALL WORLD Collection in Ideal printed album [Vol 1] for period up to 1915 mainly used [some mint], relatively sparse Commonwealth but reasonably strong Europe with decent ranges of Latin America, French Cols, Japan etc. A very nice original collection [album in good condition also]. £1000
9
COMMONWEALTH Early to GVI mint and used collection in red Simplex album, a little patchy, but mostly better material incl Br.E.Afr 1890 used to 5r and 1896 mint to 4r, St. Helena 1886 surcharges, Gambia embossed, ranges of N. Borneo/Labuan, Gold Coast and Mauritius, also Batum, Bahrain, Kuwait and others. Cat £6000++ £1000
10
COMMONWEALTH QV-GV mint and used collection in pair of New Imperial printed albums (in good condition), GB section appearing to have been removed, leaving a fairly general BE coverage. Estimate works out at about £2 per page, so please do not expect 100s of rarities. That said, that is a decent, clean and basic collection, cat a few £1000s, in a very popular format, ideal for further expansion. (100s or 1000s) £1000
11
COMMONWEALTH GVI mint (mostly) and used collection in album, generally with vals to 1/- or equivalent (some higher vals, esp in commems) and therefore including many of the awkward lower vals such as St. Helena 1d green and 3d blue, Fiji 5d (blue), Nigeria 4d orange etc. Also GB incl Wedding £1 and Festival hi-vals plus 1939 to £1 (ex 10/- dark) and much more. Clean lot. Cat £4400 £950
12
COMMONWEALTH 1937/52 GVI used collection in printed SG Crown album, very nice condition with nothing taken out and a good, strong basis to expand. To mention a few better items we note '38 sets from Antigua, Bechuanaland, Dominica, Falklands [to 10/-] and HK [ex $5 purple and red], also '47 N Borneo, '48 Singapore [ex 40c] and '52 Tristan, a few Weddings incl Gibraltar and Singapore, decent Australia, Canada, GB etc. Nice lot. £900
13
ALL WORLD 1840/1915 mint and used general collection in fastbound printed Ideal album, Vol 1 (8th edition, issues to 1915), a basic lot with general A-Z coverage, stamps on most of the approx 1000 pages, and Curate's Egg-like, good in parts (to which I can add very little save to say that it doesn't have a 1d black and therefore issues go from 1841 only!). Must be worth 75p per page on average. (See lot 21 for continuation). £750
14
MADEIRA AND AZORES 1980 1st Anniversary m/s u/m x 2800 from Azores (SG MS418, cat £4.00) and x 2100 from Madeira (SG MS171, cat £4.00). Face (at time of issue) approx £850. Cat £19,600 £600
15
MALAYSIA Early to GVI mint and used selection in stockbook, States material only (no Straits or FMS), incl various 1883/90 o/pts of Selangor and S.Ujong (appear correctly placed, but not warranted), also useful duplication of 1885/99 Selangor, eg 25c 2m/2u, 50c (SG59) x 3m/1u, $1 4m/3u etc. GVI mint vals to $5. Cat (just under) £4000 £600
16
ALL WORLD Useful accumulation housed in box, 4 albums and 7 stockbooks [plus loose], with better ranges of Sweden, Germany and GB, also FDC's, a strong section of mint and used Europas etc. £600
17
ALL WORLD Large carton with an impressive range of material with some decent Commonwealth, Brazil, u/m Berlin and DDR, fine used Swiss, GB [plus FDC's], NZ, mint sheets of USA [stuckdown], all housed in 8 albums and 9 stockbooks. (reoffered with reduced estimate) (Res. £425) £440
18
EUROPE Collections of Switzerland, Luxemburg & Vatican in (large) peg-fitting Yvert album. Useful material. (few 100s) £500
19
COMMONWEALTH QV-GV mint and used collection in rather sparse Imperial (3rd edition, issues to 1928), with a GB section worth about £100, plus something like 400 pages of BE (unusually with decent India and States) valued at £1 per page on average (NB, several pages are blank). There are a few hinge traces on some pages, but this is not a heavily plundered remainder, rather a collection which was started way back when, and which didn't get very far. Good basis for expansion. (few 100s) £500
20
ALL WORLD Collector's mint and used duplicates in 5 large stockbooks, foreign countries only, set out neatly in approx catalogue order. Cheaper stamps in the main, with better here and there. Incl Norway, Japan, Netherlands & Indies, Luxemburg, Macao and many others. (many 1000s) (reoffered with reduced estimate) £380
21

28
COMMONWEALTH Large green stockbook (A4) with a mass of GVI-modern mint and used material, the main value being in Channel Islands and Isle of Man, plus smaller quantities of BE and other material. Much in sets, from earliest issues in 1969, incl m/s and Dues. Some duplication, but never excessive, often ones or twos, sometimes ten of each. Face of CI/IOM mint (alone) is just under £500 and (we estimate) this accounts for about 2/3rds of the total value. Good lot to break down. (100s or 1000s) £400
29
GREAT BRITAIN AND O/PRINTS QV-GV mint and used remainder collection on pages, mostly used (a few mint), reasonable, if sparse spread of QV to 1/-, EDVII to 2/6d, decent run of GV plus some back of book (Dues) and decent run of Levant incl vals to EDVII 2/6d (equiv.)
