Thirst soon assailed me and the hot sun proceeded to melt my spine, but for hour after hour, I painted happily. The result was "The Marchesa's Boat-house" into which, later, I introduced a handsome model - who herself is now a rich and arrogant woman. Of the real Marchesa I can tell nothing. W.
