| The Michael Unitt collection of paintings by Minas Zakarian | |
Michael Unitt was born in 1934 in Lambeth and served in the Army with the Coldstream guards. Throughout his life he appreciated the arts including iconography and ballet. Unitt bought the collection of paintings from a small gallery in North West London about 20 years ago. He had a great appreciation for the artist's use of strong vibrant colours and the use of perspective and this small portfolio of paintings was one of his great pride and joys amongst all the different art pieces that he owned. Minas Zakarian was born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1955. He studied at Terlemezyan Art College from 1974-78 and at the Arts and Theatre Institute Yerevan from 1979-85. Karian has held exhibitions at Yerevan, Armenia 1987, 1989, 1993 and 2003, Moscow 1991, Switzerland 1991, Paris 1991 and 1993, Aarchen, Germany 1993, London 2000, San Francisco 2002, Barcelona 2002 and 2004, Moscow "Country Park" art gallery 2012, Dresden art gallery 2013. | |
