The following lots are from the estate of Jane Wilson, from West Yorkshire, an avid collector of scent bottles and all things perfume. Collected over a lifetime, Jane started the collection as a young girl and this continued into adulthood, collecting pieces from all over Europe when travelling with her husband, Colin, on business. Always calling in at perfume shops in various cities, Jane would persuade the owners to sell the large factice display bottles to her. Colin recalls carrying heavy bags of perfume bottles onto the ferry after visiting Bruges, "When Jane had three of something. It was the start of another collection!". Jane would also purchase items online and was often gifted items when chemist shops were being refitted. This extensive and remarkable collection will be sold over several auctions through 2020. | |
