The crest is that of Crewe, probably for Hungerford Crewe, 3rd Baron Crewe (1812-1894). Crewe was educated at Eton and Christ Church, Oxford, succeeding his father in 1835. He was responsible for a number of alterations to Crewe Hall. On his death he estates passed to his nephew who was to go on to become Marquess of Crewe. £120 - 180

The arms are those of Walpole for Sir Spencer Walpole, K.C.B., F.B.A. (1839-1907).
Douglas Head is a point of land which was originally part of the Nunnery Estate until it was given to 'the people of Douglas' in 1870. It was to become a popular tourist attraction by the end of the 19th century. £1500 - 2500

The inscription reads 'Presented to His Excellency Spencer Walpole, Esq. Lieut. Governor of the Isle of Man on the Occasion of the Opening of the Isle of Man International Exhibition at Belle Vue Douglas July 4th 1892'
The International Exhibition of the Isle of Man was intended 'To bring before the public in a popular manner Manufactures and Inventions of all descriptions of this and other Countries, to foster Home Industries, to encourage the attendance of Visitors to the Island, and to promote Industry, Science, Art, and Education generally.'
Among the exhibits was a full size reproduction of H.M.S. Victory, as she would have appeared following the battle of Trafalgar. £500 - 800
