  An Early 19th Century Chinese Carved Ivory Brisé Fan, Qing Dynasty, the seventeen inner sticks and two guards having a central oval left plain for initials, the main body carved with figures and stylised trees,6.5 inches or 16.5cm £100 - 150

  Five Fans, to include: A good 18th century ivory fan, the monture carved, pierced and painted in soft colour, the double paper leaf showing possibly Venus and Mars with attendants in the countryside, the verso with a solitary lady at rest in a clearing. 10.5 inches or 26.5cm T/w a circa 1890's black gauze fan, mounted on black wood, painted with two adult and clusters of immature birds, all with red head feathers. Guard length 14 inches or 35.5cm; a further late 19th c fan of cream gauze, mounted on serpentine bone sticks, the gauze painted with flowers and edged with cream machine lace. Guard length 12.75 inches or 32cm; a small cream pierced celluloid brisé fan; and a 1920's feather fan of fontange form, the monture painted cream, the feathers white and painted with tiny blue birds, attached to a layer of silk cream, the verso plain.   A Large Late 18th Century Carved Ivory Brisé Fan, Qing Dynasty, the very finely carved 25 inner sticks and two guards all with rounded tips. Centrally, the main feature comprises a shield containing initials, surrounded by extravagant drapery. To either side, a large oval, containing pagodas, other buildings, and stylised trees.   A Good and Fine Late 18th Century Chinese Carved Ivory Brisé Fan, Qing Dynasty, the twenty-eight inner sticks and two guards delicately carved with a mainly floral design. The guards, more deeply carved, feature birds and flowers. Alternate rounded tips feature a bird or flower. Centrally, a shield containing the initials MM is contained within drapes with tassels and too each side three pairs of smaller roundels contain the same floral sprays that fill the rest of the central panel. A distinctive and unusual border divides the central section form the lower gorge, this featuring two further roundels carved with birds and a decorative urn filled with flowers. The verso is flat. Contained in a modern hinged fan box. Guard length 10 inches or 25.5c £400 - 800

  An Early 19th Century Chinese Carved Ivory Brisé Fan, the twenty-one inner sticks and two guards are wedge-shaped. The fan is carved in seven main bands, and centrally a small oval within a medium size oval present a detailed scene of two figures of some import and a servant, amidst unusual flowers, a pagoda, with birds in flight. The guards feature tiny buildings, and flowers, and the tip sticks feature different shells. The first band after the ribbon creates a border that wholly encloses the other bands. Delicate bands feature minutely carved roundels, waves, tiny flower sprays, which also feature in the lower gorge. The verso is plain. Guard length 7 inches or 17.75c £180 - 280
