This relic of the ancient seas was discovered in Kenya, far inland from today's coastal region. These fossilised clams are rarely found by miners excavating calcium carbonate (limestone) for the building industry, however, now a team of specialists and local miners are using technology to locate the clams in the mines. £1800 - 2800

Removed from White Notley Hall, Essex. Edmund Byron (1843-1921) of Coulsdon Court, Surrey, was Master of the Old Surrey Fox Hounds from 1877-1902, Edmund married his first cousin Charlotte Emily Jeffrey's and it was whilst on honeymoon that he shot the Secretary Bird. Several pictures of the hunt were painted by Thomas Baines and in 1874 he published privately "What we did in South Africa". The bird amongst others were shot by Byron, and the larger animals were donated to the Natural History Museum London. £1200 - 1800
