Matchbox Superfast 4 x No.52a Dodge Charger factory bare metal body components. (1) Pre-production casting with smooth interior wheelarches (production versions have a slightly thicker rear wheelarch with cast parallel lines to the interior wheelarch), interior of body casting is completely smooth without front & rear rivet post and without front & rear ejection rings, the rear wheelarches also have a single step rather than a cut-out double step on production castings and there is also no "MB52" model number cast to underside of hood, this casting is complete with part of its original factory metal "tree"; (2) as (1) but without tree; (3) the underside of body casting now complete with model number, rear mould impression number, front & rear rivet posts, front & rear ejector rings, front interior retaining post and opening roof hinges; (4) final production issue casting which is the same as (3) but now has the additional cast lines to the interior wheelarches. The lot also includes a single opening roof casting complete with its factory metal tree as ejected from the mould and a very rare dark amber glazing unit. Interesting lot which shows the progression of casting changes from pre-production to full production - Excellent to Mint (couple of casting flaws to 2 bodies). (6) £50-£70
