Large 19th century Meissen porcelain figure of Count Brühl's Tailor, on a goat modelled after J. J. Kändler, with finely decorated clothes and the tools of his trade mounted allover - blue crossed swords, impressed and painted marks to the underside, 42cm high x 40cm wide. Count Heinrich Von Brühl' (1700 - 1763) was The Kingdom of Saxony's Minister of the Interior and a Director of the Meissen factory from 1733 - 1763. By tradition the Count's socially ambitious tailor asked for an invitation to dine at Court, in order to put him in his place the Count requested Kändler to make a comic figure of the tailor so he could be placed on the dining table rather than a guest at it £1000 - 2000
