  Titanic interest, a gown once owned by Titanic survivor Mrs Margaret Welles Swift (nee Barron) the gown in white with star and circular decoration. Footnote: Following a tour of Europe Mrs Swift boarded the Titanic at Southampton as a first class passenger (ticket number 17466, which cost £25, 18s, 7d) together with friends, Dr Alice Leader, and Mr and Mrs Frederick Kenyon. She shared cabin D-17 with Dr Leader. The three ladies were rescued in lifeboat 8. Mr Kenyon went down with the Titanic. The gown was purchased from Time Travelers Antiques and since the time of purchase the vendor has had confirmation from the family that this was once owned by Mrs Margaret Swift although it has not been proven to have been worn on the night the Titanic went down

  Titanic interest, a necklace and locket and once owned by repute by Titanic survivor Mrs Marion Estelle Kenyon (née Stauffer), the necklace with pink paste stones to the swag gilt metal necklace with further pink paste stone drops, the locket with a peacock and paste stones to the front and monogram to the reverse JMS (presumably her father John Martin Stauffer's monogram). Footnote: On the night of the sinking Marion and her husband had retired for the night and were preparing for bed when the impact occurred. They redressed and went out on deck where Mrs Kenyon escaped in lifeboat 8. She had asked her husband to follow her but he refused to do so, preferring to remain until all women and children were accounted for. He was lost in the disaster and his body, if recovered, was never identified. She later described her time in the lifeboat and recalled that the crewmen were inexperienced and that she and other ladies helped man the oars during the night. During the voyage Marion was pregnant with her first child but delivered a stillborn child soon following the disaster. The pieces in this lot have been purchased by the vendor from United Country Beloit Auction Service, Inc, USA in 2012
