Prior (WW2 un-named as issued) extremely fine and better, Polar Medal with Sterling silver mounting bar. With Polar Royal Mint box of issue and WW2 Air Ministry box of issue addressed to D.R.O. Prior, Upper Norwood with blue RAF slips of transmission issued to 1189834 L.A.C. Douglas Roland Otway Prior served as a carpenter with the advance party of the 1956 Royal Society Antarctic Expedition International Geophysical Year and with a page of London Gazette dated 28th June 1957 announcing award of the Polar Medal to recipient. Sold with Rolex Oyster-Perpetual Explorer wrist watch in box of issue with instructions and letter from Rolex Managing Director's Office dated 20th June 1958 gifting the watch to the recipient as it was the watch he wore in the Antarctic.<\i>Also sold with superb array of supporting expedition photos (150+), The Crossing of Antarctica book signed by Fuchs and other expedition members, good range of stamp covers posted during the expedition and afterwards with interesting range of cachets and some signed, 1955 Invitation to meet members of Advance Party, Admiralty letter notifying him of award of Polar Medal, 1957 letter of invitation to investiture, various Royal Society letters, 1956 Midwinter signed menu, Reunion Dinner menus and seating plans, various booklets etc, a superb collection and should be viewed to appreciate. Morton Northamptons, Fire Brigade Long Service Medal to Stn Offr Alan D Morton, BFSA silver medal with fitted 25 years clasp numbered 2072 and reverse of suspender named A.D. Morton and BFSA bronze medal numbered 3905 and reverse of suspender named A.D. Morton extremely fine to mint, all with boxes of issue. Sold with brass Merryweather helmet with NFBA helmet plate, Freedom of City of Peterborough wooden plaque, embroided blazer badge, metal car badge, Fire Service Drill Book, mess dress, Ready & Willing book about PVFB with library plate Vol No 17 presented to Honorary Chief Officer A.D.
