With 6 copied pages of service record, he was born in Ross, near Hereford, enlisted 15/3/54, served 10 months in Crimea with 6th Bn, 2 years 10 months in Bermuda and 3 1/2 years in Mauritius, promoted Cpl 21/7/64, Sgt 10/7/67, transferred to Coastal Artillery 1/5/69, discharged 29/3/75 and then served 5 years with 2nd East Yorkshire Art Vols being discharged 13/4/80, died in Filey with photo of grave. Sold with original Parchment Certificate of Discharge and 1857 letter of reference. Francis Wilson (4523) was born in Keish, Banff, enlisted 8/3/54 aged 18, issued 4 clasps to Crimea Medal, Alma, Inkermann, Balaklava, Sebastopol, discharged at own request on payment of £20 11/4/57. 21/5/57 letter of reference reads "These certify that I have known Francis Wilson for at least seven years prior to his enlistment into the Scots Fusilier Guards and that he always was steady in his employers work as well as particularly honest and sober and know nothing to hinder him from being employed in any trustworthy place where providence may be pleased to place his lot," signed Alex Robertson Elder. With 4 copied pages of service record and 2 medal rolls, Frederick Weir was born in Paddington, enlisted 17/9/91 aged 18, served India 17/1/95 to 18/2/99, landed South Africa 20/10/99, tried by FGCM and convicted of sleeping on his post and sentenced to 2 years prison with hard labour 19/5/00 and returned to England, 1 year's sentence was remitted and he returned to South Africa 5/9/01, discharged 31/3/04, clasps confirmed. William Lyle Paterson's MC was announced in the London Gazette dated 3rd June 1919 serving with RAMC attached to HQ 17th Bde RGA. With various copied research, he was born in Glasgow, enlisted as a medical student in 5th Bn Cameron Highlanders 1/9/14 aged 21, discharged 26/2/15 for the purpose of resuming his medical studies, qualified LRCP, LRCS Ed, LRFPS from Glasgow in 1916, appointed Lieut in RAMC 21/2/16, landed France April 1916, DTM & H ENG Glasgow 1924, served as MO Highlands & Islands Service and MO Colonial Med Service, he was struck off the medical register in 1942 for issuing a false certificate, but was reinstated in 1945. With copied receipt from 1946, paid £5.10.0. (See photo) (R) £650

John Curran's MM was announced in the London Gazette dated 17th April 1917. With copied MIC and LG, numbers confirmed and only issued a pair. The MIC is marked Replaced 4/5/77 but this pair appear to be original naming style. (R) £280

William Miller's MM was announced in the London Gazette dated 11th January 1918, most likely for the 3rd Battle of Ypres. With copied MIC and LG, issued a pair, MIC marked "Service reckons from 28/3/17 on conviction of desertion". Ex Chris Dixon. (See photo) (R) £250

  1914 aerial bombing casualty's 1899 QSA 3 clasps Cape Colony, OFS, Transvaal, 1902 KSA both clasps and 1914-15 Star trio to 4404 Pte W. Durham L.N. Lan R. (3274 Corl W. Durham 1 L.N. Lanc Regt M.I. on QSA, 3274 Corpl W. Durham L.N. Lanc Regt on KSA) very fine to extremely fine, mounted in a frame with ID disc and 2 1902 Guild Merchant WM Coronation medals. William Durham was killed in action aged 44 on 6th December 1914 by a bomb dropped from a German aircraft. With 13 copied pages of 2 service records, typed research, CWGC, Soldiers Died and war diary, he was born in Preston, enlisted 6/10/90 aged 19, was struck by a stone thrown by a civilian in Londonderry in 1892, served South Africa 20/2/00 to 16/9/02, promoted Saddler Sgt 1/4/08, discharged 9/2/10, re-enlisted 28/9/14, landed France 29/11/14 and his papers confirm killed just 7 days later by aircraft bomb. The war diary records "At Hazebrouck refitting. At about 9 a.m. three bombs were dropped from a German aeroplane hitting a house in C Company's billets and wounded 9 men and killed 9 men. Pte Devine died of wounds in hospital later - making total casualties 8 NCOs & men wounded 10 killed. Several civilians were also wounded and eight killed including two children." This is a very early aerial bombing casualty. (1/2B) £350

With group photo on deck of HMS Wolsey in Copenhagen 1919, pen and ink drawing of Captain of HMS Wolsey signed Herbert Kaye, 16 mainly greetings style postcards (some are silks), certificate of Registry of birth and copy of service record, Herbert Kaye was born 9/6/98 in Huddersfield, enlisted 4/1/17, discharged 15/8/19. With copied MIC, medal roll, LG and SWB Roll, George Robert Boase landed Egypt 7/5/15, commissioned RFA 7/9/17, relinquished his commission due to ill health contracted on active service 27/9/18 and issued Silver War Badge No B13611 (this missing). He cannot have served overseas after commissioning, as BWM & Victory named as Pte. (R) £120

With copied MIC and MM card, landed Egypt 11/9/15, later served with MGC, with copied MM card which shows he served with 103rd Bn MGC and was issued an MM, but no LG details, so not clear if he received an MM or not.   WWI BWM, Victory Medal and Memorial Plaque to 202236 Pte A. Page N. Staff R. (Alick Page on plaque) medals good extremely fine, plaque with a number of verdigris spots, mounted in contemporary frame. Alick Page died of wounds as a Prisoner of War with 2/5th Bn on 28th March 1918 and is buried in Mons (Bergen) Communal Cemetery. With 6 copied pages of service record, CWGC, Soldiers Died and MIC, enlisted 23/2/16 aged 18, to France 25/2/17, taken POW 21/3/18 on first day of Spring Offensive but died 7 days later from gunshot wound to the head. Family lived in Burton-on-Trent. Glass will not be posted, but items can be removed from frame. (R) £150
