A good Edo period (19th century) Japanese suit of armour (Nuinobe-Do Gusoku) comprising - heavily constructed black lacquered Kabuto (helmet) and lame neck guard, with matching iron Hanbo (face mask) and gilded copper crest. The body armour is made from large overlapping scales and is lacquered russet brown laced in blue silk, complete with its black lacquered Gessan (thigh armour) and Sode (shoulder guards) similarly laced in blue silk.
