Steyr 1886 Royal crown/L.Io (Louis I of Portugal) and M.1886 to side of chamber, bolt numbered S557, butt and side of chamber numbered S513, butt marked with Royal crown and Steyr circular date stamp 1886, folding rear sight, wooden forestock with 4 slits on top, these slots are only found on rifles used in the Portuguese colonies for spring clips that held a wooden cover for the barrel, minor aged dents to wood, good very fine, barrel unplugged and action in working order. Click to view full image... 1845 Pattern infantry officer's sword by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, numbered 27979 (1887), three quarter fullered blade, blade ornately etched on both sides with QV crown over VR, Prince of Wales feathers one side and purchaser's initials the other, brass gothic guard with QV crown over VR, wire and fishskin grip, leather scabbard with repair, odd loose wire on grip, nearly very fine, said to have been purchased by 2nd Lieutenant Henry Urmiston, 1st Royal Lancaster Militia who resigned his commission after 9 months. This sword was featured in Duncan Noble's article on Gothic swords in Classic Arms & Militaria Aug/Sep 2012 where he speculates he left his sword to the regiment and it may have been used in the Boer War. Third Reich Kreigsmarine Q64 M40 double decal helmet, Q64 stamped at side, batch 325 stamped at rear, gold eagle decal 75% complete, national decal 30% complete, with black hide liner, chinstrap has been added, helmet apple green paint with some scratching but 95% complete and good very fine. Sold with 2015 Strachan Militaria Statement of Provenance, which states the helmet came from a discovery in a bunker in St Ouens, Jersey, when builders were developing a site in the 1980s. About 30 Kreigsmarine helmets were found stacked in the bunker, along with other items which suggests it was a Coastal Artillery site. (See photo) (B) £200*
