Including a large pin with melon terminal and perforation at the centre of the shaft, finely engraved with diagonal lines, 19.5cm long; a dagger with flanged hilt, 26cm long; two socketed axehead fragments and another partly melted example, 6cm-9cm long; an arrowhead and the tip of a sword (7)
Provenance: deceased estate of William Welsh Robson (1944-2012), London.
The dagger found around Otford, Kent, in 1975 during the excavations for the M25 motorway.
The pin and axehead recorded with the Portable Antiquities Scheme respectively as LON-6A4DF5 and LON-E59816.

Circa 600-720 A.D.
Of rectangular shape with a rounded short side, with four projecting knobs and two lugs for attachment, decorated with incised abstract motifs composed of two drop-shaped areas and scrolling within, 7cm long
Provenance: deceased estate of William Welsh Robson (1944-2012), London. Found on the outskirts of London and recorded with the Portable Antiquities Scheme as LON-8577D6.
Exhibited: on loan to the Museum of London in 2006.
Literature: this buckle plate belongs to Ripoll's type G2, which is very common in South Spain and Portugal. There is only one other recorded example of this type ever found in England. Cf. G. Ripoll Lopez, Toreutica de la Betica, Barcelona, 1998, figs. 16, 22, 63-66, pls. 26-27.
