Click to view full image... x 1876 (2 Sept.) small native envelope (opened-out and a little truncated) bearing, on reverse, 1/2a. cancelled "5/b-2/1" in bars and Portuguese India 1876 Die III 20r. vermilion cancelled "diu" in rectangle of bars, showing hexagonal-framed "diu" with manuscript date, various transit datestamps including Mahuwa, Sawantwaree and Pangim, boxed "too late", "unpaid/sorting" and "postage due/1 anna", all on reverse.   x 1873 (Sept.) large part envelope to Bombay, bearing India 1/2a. and 20r. vermilion sharing manuscript cancellation and "1" in oval of bars, and 1874 envelope to Damaun bearing, on reverse, India 1/2a. and 20r. vermilion sharing "Stamped" and both cancelled "1" in oval of bars, both with despatch oval datestamp and arrival datestamps. Click to view full image... x 1898 (29 Dec.) envelope, complete with letter, from Reginald Koettlitz to Dr. Koettlitz at Dover, bearing 2a.6p. green cancelled "B" in circle of bars and showing, on reverse, "zaila/b.o./somali coast" (4.1), Aden and Dover Station Office (22.1) c.d.s., the letter headed "The Doctors tent. The camp near Harrar Abyssinia" gives details of the writer's journey from Berbera three weeks prior and their current surroundings. The envelope with a few small faults though a most interesting cover with the usage of the Zaila c.d.s. almost a year earlier than recorded by Mentgen. Photo £600-800
