The following four scarves are by Marcel Vertes (Hungarian 1895-1961) who designed textiles and scarves for Wesley Simpson from 1942 to 1948. He was a painter, illustrator, graphic designer and theatre and film costume designer who produced many illustrations and advertisements for Elsa Schiaparelli, did covers for Vogue and designed award-winning costumes for the 1952 film 'Moulin Rouge'.

The following scarf was designed by Barry Kay (Australian, 1932-1985) who designed scarves for Ascher Ltd. as part of their 'Artist Squares' series from 1944 to 1955. He was a renowned stage and costume designer and photographer, who produced designs for companies such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, Sadler's Wells Opera, the Vienna State Opera, the Royal Opera House and many others.
Ascher Ltd. was established in London in 1942 by the Czech emigres, Zika and Lida Ascher, who commissioned textile designs from many major artists including Henri Matisse, Henry Moore, Ben Nicholson and Alexander Calder.
