  A Japanese Meiji period bronze overlay high shouldered vase on hardwood plinth. Decorated with a pair of flying geese against a background with a setting sun. Incised character marks to the base, 32cm tall.

Formed from one solid piece as a bearded sage dressed in a kimono and a hooded shawl with carved decoration depicting a phoenix to the shoulders and with an inro to his waist. Posed leant contrapposto against an ornament stand with a goblet in his raised right hand and a palm leaf fan in his left hand by his side. Raised on an associated hardwood plinth. Inset lacquer tablet with signature to the base. Ivory 40cm.
Two large splits and some hair cracking on the ivory base. £3000 - £4000

  A nineteenth century Chinese carved ivory figural tusk. Formed as a female deity holding a rabbit and with a child stood at her side. Raised on a carved openwork hardwood base, 34.25cm.

Painted with red and gilt diaper grounds, with underglaze blue cell and lambrequin bands and having reserved panels finely enamelled with Mandarin figures at various pursuits. One cover with an old label for Mar Lodge, 47cm.
