| JOHN TOWNSEND
John Townsend FRSA John Townsend was born in Nottingham in 1930. He studied at Nottingham College of Art, where he was taught by Arthur Spooner. He was influenced by, Sir William Russell Flint, Vernon Ward, Sir Gerald Kelly and Sir James Gunn. His most important commission in this country in 1970 was to paint a portrait of HM the Queen, the painting now hangs in the Nottingham Council Chambers. | |
