Click to view full image... [25-37] block of six with good to large margins all round, unused without gum, the usual creasing associated with this sheet (two vertical creases between or closely between the impressions), and with a small thinning at centre though overall of fine appearance. Considered to be the largest remaining multiple of this rare variety. S.G. 120a, £45,000+. Photo £8,000-10,000
Provenance: Colin Donaldson, 1983
Norman Levin, 2005
23
Click to view full image... [37-38] pair with good to large margins and virtually full original gum; tiny mark on reverse, otherwise in exceptionally fine condition for this variety. B.P.A. Certificate (2007). S.G. 119a, £15,000. Photo £3,000-4,000
Note: This and the block offered above overlap on position 37, confirming that two sheets of this variety must have existed rather than the single sheet that was originally thought to have done so. From the state of the flaws on position 37 it is clear that they come from different parts of the print run, the block from an earlier part and the pair from the later part
