Boer War

  A Boer War flag, captured by Robert Loraine, comprising four sewn sections (green, white, blue and red), approximately 46 x 36 inches. Very rare and a wonderful piece of South African history which would enhance a Boer War Collection £1,500-2,000
Note: Robert Loraine (1876-1935) was a successful London and Broadway stage actor, actor manager, soldier and pioneer aviator. He served as a volunteer in the Boer war and was mentioned in dispatches. He took up flying in 1909, during World War I he flew with the R.F.C., winning the MC and DSO
