SINGLE OWNER RAILWAY COLLECTION

The following 60 lots formerly belonged to Reginald "Reg" John Pugh Station Master at Teignmouth in Devon.John, or "Reg" as he was known on the railway, left school at 14 and started his working life in a Torquay factory making small parts for bombs, he then worked on a farm and in the building trade before joining GWR at Newton Abbot in 1952.He spent several years at Hackney Yard, Newton Abbot after the Beeching cuts, then progressed to "Guard" and lastly Station Master at Teignmouth.Included in the lots are groups of photographic images of Hackney Yard before, during and after demolition Ð many of the signal boxes and others of locomotives and "events" in and around the areas he worked.Many of the lots were his own personal possessions, all were acquired during his time with the railway. Since his death, the items have been stored by the family who have decided that it is time for them to be sold and for other railway enthusiasts to enjoy the collection.
