1926 cover from Lucy Christian to John Fletcher in England bearing GB 1 1/2d tied by Southampton Paquebot with 1 1/2d postage pd Pitcairn Island in manuscript alongside. It is probable that the sender paid the captain of a British ship which called at the island, and the captain then endorsed the letter. Slight toning but a very scarce item mailed in the interim period between the use of the rubber handstamps and the commencement of the NZ Postal Agency. (See photo) (R) £200
